There are slight differences, most notably the amperage.  The TG-16
power supply may not have enough for both the TG *and* the CD :

For the TG+CD:
	Input AC 120V 60HZ 28W
	Output DC 11V 1.53A (1530 mA)
	Center plug is negative, the outer is positive.

For the TG-16:
	Input AC 120V 60HZ 15W
	Output DC 10.5V 730mA
	Center plug is negative, outer is positive.

No, the Backup RAM is in the hardware, not the system card (built in
or otherwise).  Being in the hardware allows HuCards to use he Backup
RAM as well, if it were in the system card, this would not be possible.
