This is years too late (probley) but the Jade Crystal upgrades your sword... you can 'use' it anywhere to upgrade. Shows a short video of your sword starting to shine. It is highly recommended to upgrade your weapon with it before facing the end boss of the Labrinth. Only 50% thru the game... i havent found anything to kill Dracula with yet.
