Leave it on for a minute or two with the sega pac in. What doles it do? Not just five second.A full minute.

Help, what did I do, this is an emergency. I am so dumb, should have left things alone. If you can help, please, I beg you...ah
I bought my laseractive on ebay. They said there was only one problem with it, that it can no read CD's. Ok, so i thought to myself, if that is the only problem, it should be able to read laserdiscs, and therefore be able to play games. Now i am also worried about the other major problem, which overtime the capacitors in the PACS deteriorate, thus rendering them useless... but can be fixed at an electronics shop.
So it came in last night. And I was overjoyed. Took it out of the box, took it upstairs and tested it with an LD movie. It worked great!! Tested it with a Sega Gen game... and it worked flawlessly, even the sound. Then I tested it with Pyramid Patrol, which came in almost two weeks before the system... was ancious...and it worked flawlessly. I was extremely happy!!!
Then I tested a Sega CD, and a normal CD just for kicks and giggles... and it read neither of them. Read on the internet some time ago that sometimes it may just need to clean the lens... it is over 15 years old after all.
All I did... was take the cover off, and with a q-tip cleaned the lense very gently with water. Put the cover back on and fired up the LaserActive to test a CD. Nothing but blank screen. I put in a Laserdisc, but nothing. Took the control pac out and it played a normal laserdisc with no problem. Put the control pac back in, and no game menu, or sega gen game... natta. I've repeated this over 10 times... and it can play laserdiscs without the control pac... but with it in, nothing but blank screen.
And it was working so good... Help if you have any idea or tips... i'd owe you big time/ Thanks in advance... Tom
