As far as the extension goes, you might try tzd.com. they don't have
tg-16 cables listed on their site (only Duo ones), but there are things
sitting around there that crop up from time to time that just don't
make it to the website.
Another option is buying the Duo extension cable and then trying to
track down tg16 to duo convertors which, now that i think about it,
might be harder to find.
this whole thing just begs the question: why did the controllers ever
wind up with different ports?! what a stupid idea when you consider
the other lengths nec went to to maintain compatibility and a seamless
transition to the supersystem card and the Duo.
Anyway, where in japan will you be? i can recommend lots of places to
you. for starters, see my article over a hudsonent.com (in the
features section) on akihabara. if you are going to tokyo, most of
what you are looking for will be in akihabara stores like: Liberty
(always spelled in katakana : Ri Ba Ti), Trader 1, SofMap (on Chuo
street), Medialand and several more. ENJOY!
