It is awesome that a fan translation for Welcome to Pia Carrot exists. The “Esperknight and Filler’s Translations” website also lists fan translations for Oh My Goddess, Team Innocent and Ojousama Sousamou as “in progress”. I’m not seeing a donations link anywhere, but I’m goi...

Technically the SuperGrafx + CD + Region Mod would give you access to the *complete* PC-Engine / TurboGrafx / SuperGrafx library. That said, there’s only five SuperGrafx games (although they’re all pretty good), and a SuperGrafx + CD take up a lot of physical space. The TurboD...

Yes, the bank switching SF2 uses that Zeograd was referring to that was very commonly used to work around hardware memory limitations if the game publisher was willing to pay for additional memory and hardware in the cartridge / card. The Nintendo NES especially used various ba...

You still wouldn't be able to play the Game Express CD games that require running on a Duo with that setup. Nor the LaserActive games, and I recall hearing that the SuperGrafx isn't able to be region modded and retain SGX compatibility.

I understand the ease and utility of using CD as a distribution medium, and also the flexibility in background music that a CD affords to a game. However, in these days of micro/mini SD cards, would it be "worth it" to distribute games on some kind of pseudo-Hucards with an SD c...

I had a nice 35"er till we had to make room for our kids playing area. So it went to the garage and then finally donated/recycled. I do miss it, but was it heavy! I'm still hoping to get the ArcadeForge SLG3000. I'm not sure if there are better/cheaper options out there?

Yes, Jason, it would, it's a universal circuit and will work with weak or 75 Ohm-ready RGB signals (although with the latter you need a slight variation of the circuit, like if wanting to use it with SCART)! It's like JROK except that the designer exposed the circuit and let me,...

Yeah Matt, short of a RGB-modded CRT TV or monitor, there is now a pretty excellent RGB-to-YPbPr circuit that you can use in any NEC console you might have (Turbo Duo, TG-16, etc.) and if your modern LCD HDTV supports a 240p signal through its green Luma/Y jack, then you will se...
