Hi everyone,
believe me, this is my fifth time to get david's message out. i have no
idea why it is not getting through. though i would have preferred to
send you his message, i'll summarize: on evil bay (as i don't think
the name of the site makes it through the filters), he came across a
bunch of PAL TurboGrafx systems! they are still there and new. he
asked me to let people know about it as it is pretty amazing that new
stuff still pops up.
incidentally, has anyone ever read the interview with john griener
(until recently, a LONG time hudson employee and exec who worked on
localizations of turbo games). it's an interesting bit of trivia that
the Turbo was distributed in Europe by the company that was/became
UbiSoft (Rayman). Hudson sold them 50,000 units.
i don't have the pal TGX but, a few years ago, i bought a hu card from
play-asia or lik-sang (the latter, a dearly departed store, to be
sure). it was just the card and sleeve but they had it listed as a PAL
TGX game. that was really surprising to me. there was no
differentiating it from the NTSC-U version and, yes, it worked on my
north american unit. does anyone know if the games display differently
for PAL/SECAM TVs?
