I have found that what is causing this crashing problem is an issue with
the toggling of the amount of power being provided on the USB port's
pins. Some USB hubs on computers with either several connected devices
or with power managment or battery power tend to enter into a long
refresh mode after dropping the power to a low point and then re-ramping
it back up to a high point. This causes the software to "hang" during
the write process inbetween writing data blocks or programs onto the
card because the hub's port is not responding to the voltage change and
resulting state change fast enough. I have found that using an AC
powered stand alone USB hub and plugging the Slim Loader IV into THAT
instead of directly into the computer solves this problem. I personally
use a Belkin 4 port USB 2.0 hub. Hope this works for you as well!
