$10,000 for this is out of the question. might it be that the seller is
doing this to see what he/she might get without actually selling?
hard core collectors probably would find (have found) ways to build a
collection for less. some of the arcade card games like fatal fury can
be found these days in tokyo for $2. also, the part at he end about the
games which "require" the ACD is incorrect; those games are enhanced by
the ACD, but play without it.
the seller's most likely buyer would be someone out to start a
collection quickly (and not in the mood to build from the ground up as
it has taken him, and most of us, i'm sure, years to do). the other
possibility is someone with lots of gaps in their collection.
i've long since decided not to part with my collection. like some of
you, at one point i sold things off and had to sweat to re-build it.
however, had i not sworn off parting with it, i would sell it again (if
i could) for $10,000. it wouldn't be too hard to rebuild this exact
collect for a fraction of the cost. if the seller dumps this for even
$5,000, it would be a major coup. best of luck to whoever is doing it.
