I got an e-mail from a fellow TMLer who has been unable to post for
some reason so I figured I would post the question for her and then
give some related info.
After signals go digital in the US next year, will that be the end of
the TV Tuner's use (aside from it serving as a monitor, of course)?
Interstingly, I had the chance to bring the Tuner with me to Europe and
now Japan in the last two weeks and I was surprised to see how well it
worked. I got quite a few VHF/UHF channels in Greece and at least five
or six here in Japan. The European channels seemed to have half a
picture at times though; wonder if that's due to it being a PAL signal?
(probably not). I had a student in Yokohama a few years ago who carried
his GT in his car at all times. He swore by it as a portable TV. Now
I can see why.
