Re: PAL Turbo Grafx in the US/NTSC?
Dude, you ought to go place ads for a US TG16 on AtariAge or NintendoAge. Put it in the wanted section and your price range. If you only need console and power, list that... see if you can find someone that doesn't want it, doesn't want to deal with ebay, or just has a spare. You might be surprised with the offers that come you way. Since you've the Supergrafx/SuperCD module, you hardly need the TG16 for CD games... so dont worry about it! I am curious though - have you tried other power supplies with your equipment? Are you sure that you actually have dead units and not just dead power supplies? IIRC, an NES power supply powers a TG16 just fine, but the tips are different, so you'll need to splice on a new tip. Or if you have one of the Universal Radio Shack 9V supplies, you just need a Q-size tip to go with it (had to do that for my Duo-R) As for the US Duo... I have one of those as well. Actually forgot about it. It was a $2 yard sale find that my cousin found. (Man, if I told you about some of the stuff he's found at yard sales, you'd shit yourself - just like me - and it all goes to eBay, as he uses this to supplement his income). The Duo is ugly as sin... surface rust on the external connectors, dirty... but it works like a charm, came with a Pad, 4-in-1 CD, and RF connector. I actually need to take it apart and wash the plastic housings as well as brush away the surface rust from the connectors (and probably RF shielding) It's funny - my Duo's are the only CD systems I still have working. Three TG16 CD units, and none play games anymore (I believe it's a pot assembly, though I suppose it could also be the plastic gear that eventually goes brittle and breaks) Congrats on the Supergrafx, btw... A few years back, I passed on a BIN Supergrafx, boxed, with a complete set of Supergrafx hucards and the CD interface and CD for %$150. Kicking myself ever since. Ditto on the RGB modded Neo Geo AES for $150 with 3 games. Take care, David On Sat, 23 Jun 2012 07:47:18 -0700, "Bryan aka R.I.P." <xxxxxx@gamezero.com> wrote: > Anytime.
