Best action game on the Duo. Track down a copy now. That's all you need to know.

I got the game a few days ago and was anxious to see what the fuss was all about all these years. Well, to be honest, I was left with mixed feelings after I completed all levels. The high points are definitely the graphics (that Boss with the pseudo-lighting effect on him looks really cool), music and sound effects. They are nicely done. But I was left wanting more from the gameplay department - first off there is no Score counter to give you an incentive to keep playing on and on and to have a reason to compete with friends. Thankfully there\\\'s a difficulty level selection... this way at least you get to compete who gets the farthest in the game and with the most lives. Other than that, despite the fact that the moves are cool and executed flawlessly, I get the feeling that it could have been just a bit better - for example it would have been extremely cool if you could hurt opponents by throwing another sprite on them. At it stands it\\\'s good, but not the \\\"masterpiece\\\" as stated in many reviews

Kaze Kiri is a side scrolling action game by Naxat Soft with smarter than average foes, flawless, responsive control, and beautiful graphics. It also has interesting, somewhat \"traditional\" japanese music, which fits perfectly with the ninja theme of the game. The intro/cutscene music is an excellent example of this, with a plodding, minimal drum beat and sparse instruments. The atmosphere of the game graphically reminded me of Dracula X(the absolute BEST action game for the system), with its dark and moody/shadow saturated style. The variety of attacks(throwing daggers, sword, slidekick, jumping kick, throwing opponents)and maneuverability(evade quick-dash forward and backward)make this game a joy to play; You will need real skill and ingenuity to dispatch the array of foes that come your way.

Borderline 3.5 to 4 stars. At first its very cool to control Kaze, who really has an abundance of moves at his disposal for a 16-bit game typical of that era. Some of the enemies are amazingly adept at blocking attacks and countering, and the bosses are intricately detailed and unique in their techniques. Very nice aesthetically, with crisp and colorful backgrounds and sprites, nice lighting and water effects, etc. A pretty stylish soundtrack, for the most part. Now the bad: the lack of a single piece of platforming is extremely disappointing. Clear the level completely of bad guys, then move onto the boss, rinse and repeat. The levels feel way too repetitive due to this. Despite this, its still a fun game- just not worth $100 (I got it for $50).

Fun game, great fluid fighting system with loads of great moves lovely graphics, but won't keep you going for too long. Although the fighting/action is very satisfying the game is very linear...You just walk along one floor, no up or down or variety of environment. A little variation in gameplay would have made this game better than the Megadrive Shinobi titles. I loved this title, but grew bored of it after a matter of days. Thank God for ebay: I sold it and got my money back due to the high demand and price this game fetches.
