Really poor graphics compared to the original , the soundtrack stinks, the same goes for the gameplay which is awful! Try to avoid this one.
Maybe Im just not a bitchy gamer like others,so Im going to review this like it should be done.1:This is a Pc Engine port,and Scd.Not Arcade-cd.If it was on Arcade-cd format,it probably would have been better,but I dont believe that it would have been much,other then animation.As a Scd port it is actually pretty good.It is close to the arcade in many respects.The graphics are there,for the most part,and so is the audio,just not as clean as the arcade,but hey,its PcEngine!!!!!What did you expect?????!!!Also,the arcade game itself was not the best,konami is not very good at producing fighting games.But it is better then average.They kept everything that they could from the arcade game in this port.
My best comparason would be like this:
Time Killers by Strata,or Gunforce by Irem,if you liked the arcade game,you probably got the Genesis cart of Time Killers,or the Snes port of Gunforce.Not many people did like those in the arcades,so not many cared about the home ports either.But if you did like them,you love
When I first loaded this one up on my Duo in '93, knowing it was a Konami title and after watching the superb intro I thought (hoped) I would be playing possibly the new Street Fighter: but alas, NO. What a silly 13 year old I was. The game is bloody AWFUL. Animation is laughable and it just isn't fun. I appreciate amakusa's comments BUT PLEASE AVOID THIS TITLE.
I agree with Amakusa in saying that the main problem here is that the original wasn\'t that great to start with.
On the other hand I believe the Arcade card would have made a big difference since to hold Big sprites with tons of animation frames you need a ton of RAM.
If you miss that ram then you have to reduce the sprites size along with the number of animation frames.
Finally I truly don\'t know which Konami team developed this, but rest assured they were not the Parodius or Dracula X teams (even Street Fighter II\' is far superiror and it\'s just a cart...)
I agree with Amakusa on graphics, But he is a bitchy games.The game posses awesome play control and I would tarmic paste on this to fix it. But i cant, as its not human. Please avoid....and dont listen to fan kiddos.
