Ninja Spirit is one of the best titles ever made for the TG16. The use of colors, game controls, the sound, and music are all top notch. While the game is a little on the short side, it has a replay value that most games could only dream of. This is a MUST HAVE title for EVERYONE.
Hands down the best Ninja game of all time. Even better than Sega's legendary Shinobi. Everything is high quality, including graphics, sound, music, gameplay, and replay value. A must-own game.
An enjoyable arcade side-scroller from Irem. The graphics are very good considering the era in which the game was made; as arcade-to-console conversions go, the visuals are top-notch. The sounds and play mechanics, however, arent quite as lofty (unmemorable BGM and straightforward, repetitive gameplay). It can be rather challenging/ frustrating on the latter stages--specifically the last--but rewarding enough to keep playing to the end.
I dont believe this is in the same league as any of the MD Shinobis ...but nevertheless decent on its own merits. Though it is WAY too short.
After all of these years, Ninja Spirit is still fun to play. The music is exciting and actually fits the mood of the game. The control is excellent. The only thing that keeps this game from getting a perfect score is the fact that I think the Turbo\'s color pallette is not fully taken advantage of. It is a bit short but you won\'t believe it becuase the game is so hard it takes a while to beat. It\'s a tough game which keeps it in your cartridge slot for a long time.
It\'s a fast, challenging, and (16 years later, we can officially say it) timeless classic. It\'s easy to see why this game was Game of the Month and one of the top games of the year way back in 1990. Even today in 2006, I\'d still be willing to spend $35+ to have it in my collection.
Oh, an definitely stronger than the Shinobis of the time. The later Shinobis had better color of course but the action and speed stil lie with Ninja Spirit.
Absolutely fantastic game. This is one of those titles that you hear as being great, and it doesn't let you down. Fast paced action that you just don't expect, with versatile enemies, and an array of weapons and powerups make this a truly badass game.
I'm one of the few who enjoys it but feels it (and Splatterhouse btw) are wildly overrated. WAY too short and easy. Like 20 minutes short. The last levels you can just run through using the dynamite sticks.
