The finest of the Soldier series, indeed. The 2/5 minute modes are very addicting.

There are shooters that are considered great thanks to some sort of crazy (\"innovative\" they call it) play mechanic (cough cough, ikaruga, cough), and others that are simply \"beyond fun\" and therefore beyond great. Games like DoDonpachi, Batsugun and Soldier Blade belong to the latter group. These games feature a gameplay department fine tuned to an extent where graphics doesn\'t even matter anymore. But then again, this also happens to be the best \"Soldier\" in the series, and a testament of the fact that technically great games could be done even on \"simple\" Hu-Cards. 10 stars **********
