More of a side story than a sequel to the unbelievably good Manji Maru, TMKD follows the Far East of Eden tradition of combining loads of ironic humor with traditional RPG elements. I love it how some characters are introduced by singing silly musical numbers, which is a trend continued in the phenomenal Tengei Makyu IV for the Saturn. The gameplay graphics are nothing to write home about, but the cut scenes are awesome, and the music is (in my opinion) the best the PC Engine has to offer. These beautifully orchestrated classical tunes with an Eastern flavor probably deserved to be put to better use than a mere video game -- they should have been in a blockbuster movie or something.
